Common Questions
The video plays on my phone but not on the TV — what's wrong?
Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network. Also try refreshing the page and starting the video again after you've connected to the TV. If using an HDMI cable, make sure you've switched to the correct HDMI input on your TV.
I can see the video on TV but there's no sound?
Check that your TV volume is turned up. If casting from a computer with "Cast screen", the audio may stay on your computer — try "Cast tab" instead. For HDMI connections, your TV should automatically switch to HDMI audio.
Can I use my phone while casting?
With screen mirroring (AirPlay, Smart View), everything on your phone shows on TV — so if you open another app, it will show on TV too. We recommend turning on Do Not Disturb before casting. With an HDMI cable, same thing — your phone screen mirrors to the TV.
What if my TV is older and doesn't have Smart TV features?
Use an HDMI cable — any TV with an HDMI port will work, even older models. Or buy a Chromecast dongle (around $30) that plugs into your TV's HDMI port and adds casting capability.
The video is laggy or buffering on my TV — how to fix?
If using wireless casting, move closer to your Wi-Fi router, or try connecting with an HDMI cable instead for zero lag. Also make sure no one else is heavily using your internet at the same time.
Do I need to buy anything?
If you have an Apple TV or Chromecast already, no — just use AirPlay or Cast for free. If you want the most reliable experience, a USB-C to HDMI cable costs about $15 and works with any TV.
